NBA JALINGO BRANCH VISITS NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION JALINGO OFFICE ON FAMILIARISATION TOUR
As part of its ongoing familiarisation tour of key institutions and stakeholders within the justice sector, the Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, paid a strategic visit to the Jalingo Office of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). The engagement formed part of the Branch’s efforts to strengthen relationships with institutions whose mandates intersect with the work of the legal profession, particularly in the areas of human rights protection, access to justice and the promotion of the rule of law. The NBA delegation was warmly received by the State Director of the National Human Rights Commission, who expressed appreciation for the visit and welcomed the opportunity for closer engagement between the Commission and the NBA Jalingo Branch. During the meeting, both institutions recognised the importance of sustained collaboration in promoting and protecting human rights across Taraba State. The engagement also provided an opportunity to explore areas of cooperation through which the Bar and the Commission can further contribute to the protection of fundamental rights and the strengthening of access to justice. The State Director reaffirmed the Commission’s readiness to work closely with the NBA Jalingo Branch and expressed the Commission’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at advancing human rights and the rule of law in the State. The visit marks another step in the Branch’s ongoing familiarisation tour and reflects its commitment to building constructive relationships with justice-sector institutions and other stakeholders in pursuit of a stronger legal profession and more effective justice delivery in Taraba State.
