MANAGEMENT OF GREENLAND UNIVERSITY JALINGO PAYS COURTESY VISIT TO NBA JALINGO BRANCH
The Management of Greenland University, Jalingo, led by its pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ojo Sunday Fayomi, paid a courtesy visit to the Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Jalingo Branch, on Thursday, 15 August 2026, at the NBA Bar Centre, Jalingo. The visit formed part of the University’s efforts to establish strategic institutional partnerships with key stakeholders in the State and provided an opportunity to formally notify the Branch of the commencement of the University’s academic operations. Speaking during the engagement, Prof. Fayomi explained that Greenland University considers the legal profession an important partner in the institution’s foundational development and integration within the wider community. He emphasised the importance of collaboration between the University and the NBA in promoting an environment of law, order and peace within which education and academic activities can thrive. The Vice-Chancellor further expressed the University’s interest in developing a strong and mutually beneficial relationship with the NBA Jalingo Branch, particularly in areas that promote the rule of law and contribute to the development of the institution and the wider community. Responding on behalf of the Branch, the Chairman of the NBA Jalingo Branch, Dr. Daniel P. Saredau, warmly welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and his management team and assured them of the Branch’s support towards the smooth take-off and success of the University. Dr. Saredau also encouraged the University Management to establish a dedicated Legal Unit within the institution. He explained that such a unit would provide an appropriate institutional channel for engagement with the NBA Jalingo Branch and facilitate collaboration on initiatives and programmes of mutual interest. The engagement marked an important step towards building a stronger relationship between the academic community and the legal profession in Taraba State, with both institutions expressing their willingness to explore areas of continued collaboration in the interest of education, the rule of law and community development. The NBA Jalingo Branch welcomes the emergence of Greenland University in the State and looks forward to a productive and mutually beneficial relationship with the institution.
